1. Service Introduction
Dopamine Barrier ("the Service") is a mobile application designed to help users manage their app usage time and limit screen time to improve digital wellbeing.
These terms and conditions govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities related to the use of this Service.
2. Age Requirement and Eligibility
The Service is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years old, you are not permitted to use this Service.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly terminate their access to the Service.
3. Service Usage
The Service is basically provided free of charge and is available to anyone who meets the age requirement.
We also operate a paid subscription service called Focus+ that provides additional features.
Users must comply with these terms and must not engage in the following activities:
- Using the Service for illegal purposes
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
- Causing harm to other users
- Unauthorized copying, distribution, or modification of the Service

5. Focus+ Subscription Service
Focus+ is our premium subscription service that provides the following additional features:
- Increased blocking groups (2 → 4)
- Increased routines (1 → 2)
- "Just 5 minutes!" temporary unlock feature available
- Premium characters available
5.1 Subscription Terms
The subscription service is billed monthly and automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Subscription billing and management follow each platform's (App Store, Google Play) policies.
When purchasing this service through the Apple App Store, the Apple EULA (End User License Agreement) shall apply by default.
5.2 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are subject to the refund policies of Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not control these policies and cannot guarantee refunds. Generally, refunds are not provided for partial subscription periods.
6. Service Provision and Changes
The Service is continuously improved to provide users with the best experience.
The content, features, design, etc. of the Service may be changed without prior notice.
In case of significant changes, users will be notified through in-app announcements or updates.
7. Service Usage Restrictions and Termination
Service usage may be restricted or terminated in the following cases:
- Temporary suspension due to technical issues
- Regular maintenance and updates
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, wars, etc.)
- Violation of these Terms
- User request for account deletion
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you have an active Focus+ subscription at the time of termination due to your violation of these Terms, you will not be entitled to a refund.
App Blocking Function Disclaimer: The Service's core functionality involves blocking access to certain applications on your device. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Technical issues may prevent you from unblocking apps when desired, even after the scheduled blocking period has ended
- You assume all risks associated with using the app blocking feature, including but not limited to inability to access blocked apps when needed
- You are solely responsible for any consequences resulting from app blocking or failure to unblock apps, including but not limited to missed communications, appointments, emergencies, or business opportunities
- We shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or harm arising from the app blocking feature, whether the blocking functions as intended or fails to unblock apps
- No compensation, refund, or remedy will be provided for any issues related to app blocking or unblocking, regardless of the circumstances
BY USING THE APP BLOCKING FEATURE, YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE ANY CLAIMS AGAINST US FOR DAMAGES OR LOSSES RESULTING FROM BLOCKED APPS OR INABILITY TO UNBLOCK APPS.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights in the content, design, logos, trademarks, etc. included in the Service belong to the developer.
Users may not copy, distribute, or modify these without the developer's prior permission.
9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results that may be obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
10.1 For Users Outside the United States
For users outside the United States, these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10.2 For Users in the United States
For users in the United States, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
ARBITRATION AGREEMENT: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify.
The arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules and procedures. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER: YOU AGREE THAT ANY ARBITRATION OR PROCEEDING SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DISPUTE BETWEEN US AND YOU INDIVIDUALLY. TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, (1) NO ARBITRATION OR PROCEEDING SHALL BE JOINED WITH ANY OTHER; (2) THERE IS NO RIGHT OR AUTHORITY FOR ANY DISPUTE TO BE ARBITRATED OR RESOLVED ON A CLASS-ACTION BASIS OR TO UTILIZE CLASS ACTION PROCEDURES; AND (3) THERE IS NO RIGHT OR AUTHORITY FOR ANY DISPUTE TO BE BROUGHT IN A PURPORTED REPRESENTATIVE CAPACITY ON BEHALF OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR ANY OTHER PERSONS.
11. Changes to Terms
These terms may be changed as necessary, and the updated terms will be announced on this page.
In case of important changes, separate notification will be provided through in-app alerts.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
